Jesus Christ will return one day to gather His people and take them home to Heaven. The joys of the Lord’s redeemed will be everlasting. They will praise God perfectly and eternally. The coming of Christ will be a glorious occasion and we look forward to that day when there will be no more sorrow, no more pain, and no more sin. When Christ returns, those who are in the graves will be raised in incorruption and reunited with their soul and spirit. Those who are alive at His coming will also be changed and we shall meet the Lord in the air to be forever with Him.
The punishment of the wicked will also be everlasting. The grave is not the final destination for anyone. Just as the Lord’s redeemed will be raised from the dead, so shall those who are outside of God’s family. These will be sent together with the devil and his angels into the lake of fire to suffer forever.
