MINUTES OF THE ORDINATION OF BROTHER BILL TAYLOR

TO THE FULL WORK OF THE GOSPEL MINISTRY

In response to a request of Union Primitive Baptist Church a presbytery was convened on October 29, 2011, for the purpose of examining Brother Bill Taylor for the purpose of ordaining him to the full work of the Gospel Ministry.  A presbytery was formed of the following:  Elders Coy Brothers, Roger Campbell (TN), Darrel Chambers, Stephen Conte (IA), George Denmark, Leon Etheredge, Ricky Harcrow, Joe Hayes (GA), Joe Hildreth (GA), Marty Hoskins (GA), Andrew Huffman (TN), Ellis Lynn (TN), Sonny Pyles (TX), Randy Quillin, Ricky Siniard, Coy Thomas (GA), Gene Thomas, Mark Thomas (GA) and Ben Winslett; with Deacons Hulen Chambers, Larry Clabough, Victor Halbgewachs, Larry Jones, Paul Kennamer, Ulos Kennamer, Darwin Perkins, Joe Rounsavall, Hurshel Rousseau, Kenneth M. Stephens, Thomas A. Stephens and John Stone.  The proceedings were as follows:

The presbytery was called to order and a motion and second was unanimously approved to appoint Elder Darrel Chambers to serve as Moderator.  Following prayer by Elder Ricky Harcrow, the Moderator then appointed the following, in accordance with the candidate's request:  Elder Mark Thomas, Clerk and Brother Larry Jones, Assistant Clerk; Elder Joe Hayes to question the church spokesman; Elder Coy Thomas to question the candidate; Elder Ellis Lynn to pray the ordination prayer; and Elder Gene Thomas to deliver the charge.

The Moderator then gave a brief scriptural basis for the ordination of an elder from Mark 3:14, Titus 1:5, 9 and 1 Timothy 4:14.

The Church Spokesman, Elder Randy Quillin, who had been previously chosen by Union Church, was questioned as to whether the candidate met the qualifications of 1 Timothy 3:1-4.  Elder Quillin replied that the Church was satisfied that he fully met these qualifications.

Brother Taylor was then questioned by Elder Coy Thomas from the Mud Creek Association Articles of Faith on the subjects of the Trinity; inspiration of the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments (as well as the King James translation of the Bible); the total depravity of man; justification; final preservation of the saints and the distinction of it from perseverance; resurrection of the dead; reality of an eternal hell; local church government; and the church ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Supper as well as the example of feet washing.   Elder Thomas also questioned Brother Bill on God's eternal love and eternal salvation to His people or particular redemption; immediate regeneration and gospel regeneration; conditional time salvation; and the predestination of all things.  All questions were answered to Elder Thomas' full satisfaction.  Elder Roger Campbell then questioned Brother Taylor regarding having church members who are members of secret orders.  Elder Marty Hoskins then related the good report of Brother Taylor's ministry in that he was well regarded by his daughter since he took time to talk with all age groups in a congregation.  All questions were answered very well and to the satisfaction of the presbytery.

After which the presbytery gathered around Brother Bill Taylor and laid their hands on him while Elder Ellis Lynn led in a very fervent and humble ordination prayer for this work and for the Lord's blessing to be upon Brother Taylor and his ministry.

Elder Gene Thomas then delivered the charge to Brother Taylor with his wife, Sister Pam, at his side from Ecclesiastes 1:1-2; 12:8-14 ("The words of the Preacher") and Colossians 4:17 ("Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfill it!").  Brother Bill was also charged that should he become dissatisfied with the doctrine of the Old Line Primitive Baptists for him to quietly leave us and not to take others along with him.  Brother Gene then went into the need for an elder to have a good wife to help him with his ministry.

Elder Chambers asked the Church if they were satisfied with the work of the presbytery thus far.  Brother Quillin answered in the affirmative.

The Clerk then read the Minutes and they were approved by a vote of the presbytery.  The presbytery was adjourned and Elder Bill Taylor was extended the right hand of fellowship.  The proceedings were closed with a dismissal prayer by Elder Joe Hildreth.

Elder Darrel Chambers, Moderator
