What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded

The cold of winter's icy grip
Meets me at my door,
As I leave the warmth of home,
To go on errand to the store.

I'm so glad we have warm cars;
I'm thankful for my cozy coat;
I'm glad the likelihood of freezing
Seems, for most, to be remote.

Ah, how good to feel the sunshine;
And, to see small children wrapped
In their brightly colored sweaters,
Their heads topped with knitted caps.

A perfect day to consider
Countless blessings from our GOD;
Especially now --- good heat and clothing,
And warm shoes, with which we're shod!

We're provided for each day,
In hot weather, and when there's ice.
GOD gives us the things we need.
His LOVE for us does more than suffice!

By the mercies of GOD,

Leaves are falling down in whirls,
Such delightful autumn things!
The crunch of leaves beneath my feet,
Somehow makes me want to sing.

Autumn breezes, cool and brisk,
Envelop me in cleanest air.
As a small child, caught in wonder,
I've no thought of troubling care.

There, a car sweeps down the road,
Sending leaves in dancing sprays!
What joy to know GOD's blessings!
How wonderful, such days!

By the mercies of GOD,
