For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. — Matthew 24:24

I confess, of my flesh I'm hopeless;
Of myself, I have no strength;
I own no stores of wisdom;
But, LORD, my Hope is in Thee;
In Thee, great God of Wisdom;
I trust Christ's finished work;
I'm resting in Thy tender mercies,
Believing for life beyond earth.
Then, let me reject selfish thought,
To be centered wholly on Thee;
On Thy perfect righteousness;
On Thy Grace and mercies, free;
Upon Thy bountiful Love, eternal;
Upon Salvation's plan;
Upon Thy wondrous rescue
Which redeemed Thy chosen of man.
Thine be the glory, now and always,
Father, Savior, Comforter: God!
Praises be unto Thee ever,
Thorough Furnisher for life's road!
By the mercies of God,
[Peggy Hood, 6-10-2004]
