Daily Scripture
And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.

THOU Art Not the Author of Fear

Dread and fear laid hold upon me;
And, this, I knew, was not of God.
A dear loved one was in surgery;
Could I exercise my faith or not?

I closed my eyes in prayerful thought,
Saying, THOU art not the author of fear!
In mind, I voiced it o'er and o'er;
And, soon, I knew the LORD did hear.

A calm assurance came to me,
An assurance that all would be well.
The outcome was not in my hands,
But with God, by Whom fears dispel.

One sure thing in this life is change.
It begins the moment we are born.
God has brought us to this very day;
HE's the Giver of each new morn.

May our faith grow as we go forth,
Knowing our days are in HIS hands,
Knowing God is with us, even in trials.
Eternal LOVE, forever able, stands.

By the mercies of God,
