This section of MTZ is devoted to historic, Baptist documents.
Turmoil in any body of people is a very sad thing. Unfortunately, beginning in Bible times, Christianity has been a people often plagued with turmoil. A common occurrence during times of church turmoil is an effort to increase theological precision and consequentially publish an official statement regarding the views of the church at that given location and point in time.
Many of the articles and confessions in our Historic Documents section were created in times of stress, as a public demonstration of the doctrinal and practical convictions of our people.

The following excerpt comes from the minutes of a Baptist Church in Huntingdomshire England in the year 1652. It records the exclusion of two church members for five reasons. The fourth reason informs that these people ascribed to a view modern Primitive Baptists would call the "Absolute Predestination of All Things," or "Absolutism" in short.
