PB Disaster Relief Effort Information

As you know, the Florida panhandle was severely impacted by Hurricane Michael this week. This has left many people without homes, food, and water. Among those affected was the Saint Andrews Primitive Baptist Church, in Panama City. It is our privilege to try to bring some relief to our brothers and sisters, relief they can distribute among themselves and their neighbors, family, and friends.

We plan to make at least one trip there to deliver supplies early this next week, possibly Monday. Also, some of us plan to stay there to help with the physical needs, such as installing tarps and cutting trees.

Many have asked about ways to contribute. Brother Lance Hocutt has produced that means, using the account for the former Primitive Baptist Scholarship fund. Because of this, you can contribute online without delay, as with a check. Lance headed much of the efforts after Hurricane Katrina.

Use Paypal to donate to: PBC Scholarship Fund, Inc. ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it )

If you prefer to contribute directly to the members of Saint Andrews, they've requested you send that contribution through Palm Chapel Primitive Baptist Church in Crestview Florida. Crestview was not as heavily impacted and they still have functioning banks and stores. Presently, supplies have to be brought to Panama City from further distances because of storm damage. Keep that in mind, as cash in their hands might not help them acquire necessary food and supplies this soon after the storm.

If you would like to purchase supplies and live in North or Central Alabama (along the route), or have means to deliver the supplies or convoy down with us, I suggest bringing donated items to our respective churches on Sunday, and someone from the churches meet up with us.

Also, if you would like to volunteer to physically assist, I am sure that is presently still a need. I plan to spend the beginning to middle of next week down there as needed. You're welcome to accompany us. Please contact me (Ben Winslett) for more information, at 256-527-8522.

For questions about any of the above, feel free to call.

[Note: If you know of a congregation in the affected area that needs such assistance, please let us know and we will attempt to help them.]
